Open-System Horizontal Scan-Body Design

Apollo SmartFlag uses horizontally oriented scan bodies designed to enhance intraoral scanner recognition during implant-level scanning. As an open system, the scan bodies are compatible with multiple implant platforms and CAD/CAM workflows, avoiding dependence on a single proprietary ecosystem.

Optimised for Full-Arch and All-on-X Workflows

Full-arch digital implant scans are prone to stitching distortion due to long-span scanning. SmartFlag provides defined geometric reference structures placed along the arch to support more consistent tracking of implant positions in All-on-X and multi-implant cases.

Non-Converging Geometry for Improved Visibility

Unlike some horizontal scan bodies that converge toward the midline, SmartFlag components are positioned parallel to the arch. This layout aims to reduce visual overlap, improve scanner visibility, and maintain consistent spatial references across the arch.

Digital Workflow Integration

After attachment, SmartFlag scan bodies can be captured with an intraoral scanner, exported to CAD software and used for restorative or framework design. Libraries are available for commonly used CAD systems, enabling design of provisional and definitive prostheses.

Kit Includes Eight Scan Bodies

Each kit contains eight horizontal scan bodies suitable for most full-arch implant distributions. The number supports both unilateral and bilateral implant configurations.

Supports Accuracy in Implant Position Capture

Research on full-arch scanning indicates that long-span digital impressions are sensitive to stitching errors and lack of stable landmarks. Horizontal scan bodies, placed strategically across the arch, provide stronger reference geometry to improve the trueness and precision of multi-implant scans.

Compatible With Major CAD/CAM Systems

Scanned data can be exported as STL and integrated into implant-planning, bar design, or full-arch prosthetic workflows, including milling and 3D-printing processes.
